Carter Kettner of Huntley was diagnosed in February 2009 with a tumor on his brain stem.
He went through months of chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries.
Carter got a special visit from Santa back in December.
His neighbors were inspired by his fight and named a street in the community after him.
The boy passed away around 2 o'clock Wednesday morning with his parents at his side.
