Report: Housewares show to stay in Chicago

May 28, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The International Home and Housewares Show has met in Chicago since 1939. It brought an estimated 55,000 people from 100 countries to Chicago in March.

The Chicago Tribune reports the show's board voted Friday to move forward with negotiations on a new, long-term contract.

The move comes one day after state legislation designed to cut costs for McCormick Place exhibitors became law.
