Eight people were hit on the sidewalk outside Petterino's at Randolph and Dearborn and had to be hospitalized. One person was in critical condition, two were stable and five were listed as good.
Police say the driver was heading northbound on Dearborn, made a wide turn and lost control.
Paramedics checked the driver at the scene, and she appeared OK.
Last year, two taxi cabs crashed into the same restaurant about a month apart.
