Lincoln Park Boat Club Celebrates 100 Years

June 13, 2010 The Lincoln Park Boat club welcomes you to try a class or become a member. Since its inception in 1910, Lincoln Park Boat Club has hosted competitive rowing regattas at its Lincoln Park Lagoon site, offered classes in kayaking, rowing, and paddling as well as organized the Chicago Sprints Regatta (July 11th & 12th, 2010).

Many Chicagoans may not realize that club members are able to enjoy unlimited access to the facility and fleet of boats including Chicago's only Outrigger Canoes. Only Lincoln Park Boat Club members have access to the lagoon, so you can learn, then head out into Lake Michigan. Or join one of our competitive teams for paddling, Dragonboating or sweep rowing. Sweep rowers and Dragonboat teams train on both the lagoon and the Chicago River and compete nationally.

Individual club memberships start out at just $359 for the entire season.

The mission of the Lincoln Park Boat Club is to make boating accessible, affordable, safe and fun for club members and members of the Chicago metropolitan community. The boathouse is located on the Lincoln Park Lagoon. Come and take advantage of the calm, protected waters for kayakers, rowers, scullers, and paddlers, the lagoon also has access to Lake Michigan for sea kayaking. The Lincoln Park Boat Club is the only club in Chicago that offers Outrigger Canoe classes and they are one of the only places in the Midwest that you will find four seat outrigger canoes.

Boating has many benefits including stress relief; weight loss and it helps build muscle tone. You will make new friends and learn something new. For more information on classes being offered, and special events please visit LPBC.net
