DNA evidence links man to barbershop murder

June 17, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Thirty-two-year-old Anthony Townsend was charged Wednesday night with first degree murder and armed robbery.

Police say he and another person attacked Muhaimin Karim as he was taking out the garbage at his business back in December 2006.

One of the suspects fired at Karim, killing him. He was the owner of Karim's Kuts in the 8300-block of South Cottage Grove.

Police arrested Townsend on Tuesday. The second person remains at large.
