Committee vote set on 2nd Walmart

June 22, 2010 (CHICAGO) It comes as the retailer and group of aldermen strike a deal over wages.

Walmart supporters demonstrated at City Hall Monday. They say the new stores would create thousands of jobs and generate nearly half a billion dollars in sales and property tax.

Union leaders and a number of aldermen remain opposed to the world's largest retailer. If the zoning committee approves the plan, tt could go before the full city council at the end of the month.
