Pastor seeks anti-violence help from Nat'l Guard

June 27, 2010 (CHICAGO) Rev. Gregory Daniels is the pastor of Marble Rock Missionary Baptist Church on South Ashland.

He is also the uncle of a young man who was shot six times this past week in the Englewood community.

Daniels' nephew survived but remains in intensive care. The minister says more needs to be done to stop the violence.

"The numbers are increasing. The violence is riveting and ravaging our communities to proportions unknown," the pastor said.

Daniels says his nephew knows who shot him.

The Chicago police news affairs office says no one is in custody for the crime.
