A strike by construction workers is officially over after union members ratified a new contract.

Work resumed overnight on the Eisenhower Expressway.

The strike also affected hundreds of other road, school and other construction projects.

The Operating Engineers Local 150 reached a deal earlier this week with the Mid-American Regional Bargaining Association. The deal gives union workers a 9.75 percent increase in wages and benefits over the next three years.
