The slow and graceful movements of Tai Chi may be better for relieving the pain of fibromyalgia than conventional stretching exercises.

A study in the New England Journal of Medicine shows that over a three month period those doing Tai Chi had less pain and felt their depression lifting over time.

They also reported improvements in quality of life, sleep and exercise ability.

Fibromyalgia, which may affect 200 million people worldwide, is difficult to diagnose and hard to treat.
