Members of the media got a walkthrough tour of Algonquin Middle School, 767 Algonquin Road, just before kids came in for class.
Renovation work at the school was delayed by the construction strike earlier this summer. But the regional office of education inspected and approved the school for instructional use.
A new wing for the building is not scheduled to be completed until next year.
