High winds help spread Wauconda barn fire

A barn caught fire in northwest suburban Wauconda and high winds caused it to spread to two others.

No people or animals were hurt when the fire started along Route 12 and Case Road.

A metal barn was the first to catch fire, but it spread to the wood barns quickly.

It took firefighters about an hour to control the flames due to the strong winds and a lack of fire hydrants in the area.
