Apple Fest, Apple Pizza Recipe

Sept. 18, 2010 (PRESS RELEASE) When it is time for Apple Fest, it is time for all things fall! Apple Fest has been a Lincoln Square tradition for more then 20 years and it is a true sign of the season. Three-dozen vendors will line Lincoln Avenue selling everything from candy apples to scarves and hats. Apples will be sold by the bushel, cider by the gallon; you'll enjoy live music, children's games, cooking classes and tastings, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables from specialty vendors. In 2009, nearly 1200 pounds of apples were sold in eight hours.

It's wonderful to see neighborhood families gather, snacking on apples and lining up to sink their teeth into warm apple pies. There is nothing better then strolling through the square with a hot cup of cider on a cool crisp autumn day. It¹s a great slice of Americana, said Melissa Flynn Executive Director of the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce.

If you can¹t make it to an apple orchard this fall, bring the family to Apple Fest; it is free and open to the public. For more information on the schedule of events (music, cooking classes, kids games) please log on to Apple Fest is Saturday, September 25th from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and is located on the 4700 block of Lincoln Avenue.
