Gary and the bankrupt company have been in a legal battle since 2008. A settlement of that lawsuit now appears near.
The deal could mean the city would finish building an access road to Majestic's Buffington Harbor property and Majestic would release $10 million owed to the city of Gary.
Majestic Star may also be getting a new owner.
