The Adler Planetarium is celebrating World Space Week by bringing a special rocket to Chicago.

The 45-foot long launch abort system, known as the LAS Pathfinder, is part of the Orion spacecraft. It's designed to pull the Orion crew module away from the launch vehicle during an emergency on the launchpad or the climb to orbit.

Visitors can check out the full-scale rocket mockup outside the Adler by the Sundial Plaza through this Thursday.
