A month-long sit-in at Chicago's Whittier Elementary field house may be coming to an end.

Parents and activists involved in the protest want the building to be renovated and used as a library instead of being torn down as planned. They say after Chicago Public Schools chief Ron Huberman met with Alderman Danny Solis Wednesday he asked to see parents' demands in writing.

Protesters say they feel like they're now being listened to and the sit-in could end soon depending on Huberman's response.
