Congress Parkway sidewalk work gets going

October 21, 2010 (CHICAGO) City crews had the jackhammers out to begin the construction of wider sidewalks, as well as in-ground planters with seating areas.

The rehab project will impact vehicular traffic too. Expect lane closures from Michigan Avenue to Wells Street.

The makeover is not slated for completion until the fall of 2012.

All this takes place as crews carry on with their work on the Congress bridge project.
