City recognizes 45th anniversary of soldier's sacrifice

October 22, 2010 (CHICAGO) The city honored Private First Class Milton Lee Olive Friday.

A veteran who served in Olive's unit in Vietnam laid a wreath at the Olive Memorial in Olive Park.

Mayor Daley was among the many Chicagoans who paid their respects.

Olive was just 18 years old when he smothered a grenade with his body to save the lives of four fellow soldiers on October 22, 1965.
