Group of black pastors endorses Cohen for governor

October 27, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The religious leaders say they are going against their history of endorsing Democrats, but they say they don't trust Governor Quinn to get the state out of its economic troubles.

"We support the candidate, Scott Lee Cohen, because we believe in his message, his message of trying to put people back to work, his message of trying to see to it that the little man is helped and not just the rich," said Rev. Marvin Alexander.

While accepting the endorsement Cohen said it's time to send a message that voters are fed up with career politicians.
