A small fire on board an Amtrak train Tuesday morning caused a change in plans for some passengers.

The fire started in an Amtrak engine near north suburban Bannockburn. The passenger cars were not involved in the fire.

Passengers were transferred to an inbound Metra train and taken to Union Station.

A Metra train behind the Amtrak train was delayed getting into downtown while firefighters worked to put out the flames.
