South Loop restaurant destroyed in fire

Investigators are calling a fire that destroyed a South Loop restaurant Thursday morning suspicious. It has also forced the closure of an agency that helps the homeless.

Firefighters were called to the Ole Hardwood restaurant in the 1300-block of South Wabash around 4:45 a.m. No one was hurt, but investigators say it appears suspicious.

The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, which is on the second floor of the building, suffered smoke damage and is now closed until Tuesday.
