Younger women at an increased risk of bone fractures are now being urged to get screening for osteoporosis.

The newly released guidelines by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force expand routine screenings to include all women 65 and older as well as high-risk younger women.

Doctors say higher risk women include those with a thin frame, smokers, and those who drink alcohol excessively and have a family history of osteoporosis.
