The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has received 32 complaints of engines stalling in the Toyota Highlander hybrids.
This involves more than 40,000 2006 highlanders.
The SUVs apparently stalled at speeds of 40 miles per hour or more.
A recall has not been issued.
