The New Trier High School Board decided to let go of Daniela Rossmann on Wednesday morning. She had been suspended for what the district described as "misconduct."
Rossman has taught German at New Trier since 2003 and most recently worked full-time at the Winnetka campus.
School officials have not explained what kind of relationship she had with the student.
Rossman has not been charged.
