The Cubs announced Friday that Robert Redford will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Wrigley Field on opening day April 1.

The Hollywood giant is in Chicago next week to promote his movie The Conspirator.

Redford starred as Roy Hobbs in The Natural. In the movie, Hobbs, a player for the fictitious Brooklyn Knights, hit a homer that shatters the lights at Wrigley Field. However, that scene was actually filmed in Buffalo's War Memorial Stadium.

In real life, before his acting career, Redford was a baseball player and earned a baseball scholarship to the University of Colorado as a pitcher.
