A Chicago dog owner is probably hoping his pet has learned a lesson about chasing ducks.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit came to the dog's rescue after it fell into the Chicago River Tuesday.

The officers reunited the dog with its owner on the riverbank at Ping Tom Memorial Park on Chicago's South Side.

The dog chased the ducks all the way into the river after breaking free from its owner's chain.
