A street was dedicated Tuesday to the memory of a fallen Chicago officer on the city's Southwest Side.

The southeast corner of Leamington near 51st Street is now Michael Gordon Way.

Officer Gordon was killed in August of 2004 when a drunk driver struck his squad car.

Members of the Gordon family attended the ceremony. They selected this location because Officer Gordon lived on this street for a short time and both his grandmother and father both grew up there.
