Police say someone stopped two Chicago police sergeants in the South Shore neighborhood Wednesday night and told them two people had just committed a robbery. The sergeants saw two people matching the description on the 1800-block of East 69th Street and ordered them to stop.
One suspect had a weapon, investigators said, and turned in the officers' direction. The officers shot and killed Tatiun Williams, 15.
"I need some kind of answers why my baby is not coming home and will never come home," said Williams' mother Lois Pickett.
The other suspect was arrested. The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating.
