The children at Lincoln Elementary complained of feeling light-headed and nauseous.
The school superintendent says they were taken to hospitals as a precaution. Two teachers also felt ill but declined medical treatment.
The leak was traced to an underground pipe just north of the school. All students were evacuated and classes were cancelled for the day. School is expected to be in session Friday.
