Northbrook honors Memorial Day with 1901 flags

A northern suburb has a unique, patriotic way to honor those who served in the country's armed forces.

Chopper 7HD flew over what is being called the "Field of Honor" in Northbrook's Village Green Park. The Field of Honor features 1,901 flags. This number of flags was chosen because the year 1901 was when Northbrook was incorporated.

Organizers say the display is a way for people to feel connected to the community, and to remind them what Memorial Day is all about.
