Heat hampers firefighters at South Side building

Five ambulances were sent to an apartment building fire Friday afternoon on Chicago's South Side.

The move was a precaution because fighting a fire in heat like what the Chicago area saw Friday can be especially dangerous.

The building at 7957 S. Dobson was heavily damaged, but no residents were hurt.

A firefighter suffered cuts, and two police officers had minor smoke inhalation.
