Study: No truth in 'hypoallergenic' dog tag

A new study finds they are no less likely to make you sneeze than other dogs.

It's highly believed that hypoallergenic dogs produce less dander and saliva and shed less fur, making them a healthier choice for people with allergies. But authors of study in the American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy found no scientific evidence that hypoallergenic dogs produce fewer allergies.

Scientists did not test specific breeds but say parents should not choose a pet based on the hypoallergenic classifications.
