Students at the LEARN Romano-Butler Elementary School went back to class Monday morning. That school is one of four LEARN schools and nine UNO charter schools that began the new school year on Monday.
In addition to a longer school year, students at those schools also have longer class days, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Chicago Public Schools classes begin on August 8 for year-round schools and September 6 for all other schools.
