The Illinois Tollway Authority recently announced plans for a $12 billion construction project.

Tollway officials say the 15-year plan could create as many as 120,000 jobs and stimulate the economy by $21 billion.

Drivers would help pay for the project through higher tolls. For example, the tollway authority says I-Pass customers would pay an additional 35 cents at most toll plazas.
