The incident happened just before 1 a.m. in the 1100-block of West Wrightwood. The victim who was killed has been identified as 19-year-old Rodney Kyles Jr. He was reportedly stabbed in the chest and abdomen.
Police say they have a description of the suspect, but no one was in custody as of late Saturday.
