Laziness might be genetic

If you'd rather spend your time lying on the couch instead of hitting the gym, there may be a genetic reason for that.

A new study finds some people who are lazy and lethargic are missing certain key genes that control muscle protein.

Canadian researchers found that removing those genes that are crucial for exercise made mice weaker and less able to run as fast as those mice that still had the gene.

The research appears in the current issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
