2 charged in string of NW Side armed robberies

September 10, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Alexander Vesey is being held on a $400,000 bond, and Marcus Washington is being held on $300,000 bond, according to a Cook County Criminal Court clerk.

Vesey, 35, was charged with five counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery. Washington, 34, was charged with two counts of armed robbery. The suspects apparently approached victims in open garages or alleys, and robbed them at gunpoint. Police say the most recent armed robbery occurred Thursday.

Both are expected to appear for preliminary hearings in Northwest Felony Court on September 15, the clerk said.
