Police in Evanston and Chicago are teaming up to search for two home invasion suspects.

Sunday night, officers responded to an emergency call in the 1700-block of Monroe in the northern suburb. Investigators say two armed men forced a man into his home, handcuffed him, ransacked his apartment and stole a laptop computer.

Police officers spotted the suspects but could not stop them. They eventually crossed the border into Chicago. They ditched their vehicle in the 3000-block of West Jerome.

The suspects remain at large.
