Parents buying fewer diapers

The volume of diapers sold in the U.S. slipped 1 percent in August versus last year. That extends a decline going back a full year.

Even sales of generic diapers was down.

The U.S. birth rate has been on the decline, so it's not fully clear how much of this drop is due to penny pinching or just from fewer kids.
