Friday in court prosecutors did not seek a higher bail for Lydia Price of Berwyn.
Price was arrested at her home last month after the death of her 14-year-old mentally disabled son.
Matthew Degner died of pneumonia. Investigators say the boy was found living in a home without working plumbing and overrun with about 200 animals.
Berwyn Police say their contact with the family goes back to 2003. But, they say, in each case they found no danger at the home.
Price will be arraigned on child neglect and other charges on October 31.
