Country Club Hills police chief resigning

October 11, 2011 (COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, Ill.)

The mayor there says an attorney is in talks with Evans' attorney and that they are drafting a resignation letter.

The Chicago Tribune reports the city's former chief, William Brown, will take over as acting police chief.

Evans came under fire for a number of reasons, among them, a controversial summer camp where the campers, including the children of some aldermen who voted for it, got paid to attend.
