Five area aldermen want residents to be the on the alert and know how to protect themselves.
Police think two men are responsible, sometimes working together and sometimes alone. They are armed and approach women who are on foot and assault them after taking their valuables.
There have been eight attacks since late August at different West Side locations. The most recent was last Friday.
