Possible link between HPV, heart disease

The human papilloma virus can cause cervical cancer, and it has been known to cause some kinds of oral cancer, but a new study finds it could be linked to heart disease.

In this study, women who were known to be infected with cancer causing strains of HPV were at higher risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke, even when they had none of the usual heart disease risk factors.

The study appears in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

But, some experts are questioning the study's methodology and say the study could be flawed.
