The gunman, identified as a former FedEx employee by police, walked into the warehouse in the 5100-block of West 73rd Street in the southwest suburb around 8 a.m. Thursday. Armed with a revolver, witnesses say the man fired several shots. They believe he was looking for a woman with whom he had a relationship. She is a current FedEx driver, according to witnesses. Police say the shooting may be domestic.
The plant was evacuated by SWAT team members and once the gunman was surrounded, he fatally shot himself, police said. All of the FedEx employees were accounted for by 9:45 a.m., when sources told ABC the "incident is over."
Bedford Park police will speak at 11:15 a.m. Watch it live on ABC7Chicago.com.
