The study, released by the Environmental Working Group, shows 44 other cereals with sugar content equal to three Chips Ahoy cookies.
Eighty-four cereals were scrutinized for the study.
The three brands singled out for matching the Twinkies sugar load included:
Smacks, Post Golden Crisp, and General Mills Wheaties Fuel were the worst offenders.
Honey Nut Cheerios, Apple Jacks, and Cap'n Crunch also had high sugar content.
