City raises fines for illegal disability placards

Chicago's city council passed an ordinance that cracks down on drivers who abuse disability placards.

Effective January 29th, fines will go up and police will be authorized to tow vehicles showing fraudulent placards.

Fines for fake, stolen or altered placards will range from $500 to $1,000. The fine for displaying an invalid placard or one that belongs to another driver will be $200.
