The fire happened just before 7 p.m. The fire chief says crews had to rescue two people from the basement. A neighbor says it was a woman and her grandchild. They were unconscious when firefighters pulled them from the building.
A third person suffered minor burns. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
