The number of registered voters in Chicago is the lowest it's ever been, according to the Chicago Board of Elections commissioners.

As of Monday, about 1.28 million voters are registered in the city.

This year's low numbers caused election board chairman Langdon Neal to urge voters to register by February 21st, the registration deadline for this year's March 20th primary.

"I am asking all Chicago voters to wake up," said Neal.

Chicago voters can register in person at the board offices at a state driver's license office or by mail with a form that can be downloaded from the election board's website.
