An American Eagle flight to Chicago struck a hawk shortly after takeoff from Fargo and had to turn back.

The Fargo Airport Authority says the pilot flew the plane back to Hector International Airport on Thursday afternoon so ground crews could check for damage. None was found, and after a delay of about three hours the plane took off again and later landed safely in Chicago.
