As Congressman Bobby Rush led a protest at Metra headquarters, the rail agency postponed awarding a contract to build the Englewood Flyover Rail Bridge.

Rush was joined by Congressman Danny Davis at the Loop protest. They said minority contractors were not going to get a fair share of the work on the flyover bridge project in the South Side Englewood community.

"Cut us in or cut it out, they need to cut us in on the contract or cut the contract out" Rush said.

In a statement released Thursday afternoon, Metra said it won't award a construction contract until its June 11th meeting, which is one month later than originally planned.
