The little girl is in good condition. Police say she was found Friday afternoon near Ashland and Roosevelt road in the city's University Village neighborhood.
The girl is described as roughly 2 years old, African-American, with braided hair, weighing 31 pounds.
A passerby found the toddler and contacted police who took her to the nearby UIC Medical Center.
Doctors examined the girl, and determined she was in good shape and showed no signs of trauma.
Neither the stroller nor the girl's clothing provided a clue as to her identity or why she was abandoned.
